PROJECT TOPIC ON THE IMPACT OF MOTIVATION ON WORKERS PERFORMANCES

 ( A CASE STUDY OF THE NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE ZONE “D) BAUCHI

This research project is an exploratory attempt to study and analyze the impact of motivation on workers performance in Nigeria customs service, Bauchi Zonal Office as cased study. The purpose of this research work is to discuss in a most objective way how motivation actually induce workers to positively respond to their job. The views of workers were gathered through questionnaires distributed to elicit appropriate information. In regard to that, the findings of this study include among others the following that motivation is an inevitable tools used  in achieving aim and objectives. 

It was discovered that if all the motivations tools are used, their by leading to increase in performances, which is the main of every organization the study also reveals that a conducive environment would go a long way, to boost the morale of the employees. In the end, it was recommended that organization should used motivation as a form of encouraging workers in order to achieved their goals. Performances of employees should be assessed. It is also recommended that employees should either go on the job courses or general seminar or short courses as this will develop them to perform well.

The motivation of workers has been regard to government and private sectors all over the world.
It concerns the direction, intensity and persistent of work behavior. Some psychologist view motivations as product of innate human needs, motivated workers will engage in activities more vigorously and efficiently than an unmotivated workers.
According to Adelaja (2006), result of unmotivated workers will lead to absenteesms, lack of interest labour turn over, poor attitude to work and frustration, motivating a worker Is not an easy task, therefore, it is important for the management to have an understanding of good interpersonal relationship, thus, this   will improve workers performances.

    Basically, the workers performance is a very dynamic for every employee. He/she must be flexible in order to move to turn with the prevailing trades challenges and realities of the millennium. Hence the need of motivation for performance coincide with the world of Adelaja (2006) who said that worker whether in the public or private sector should put their best they must have the  opportunity, adequate assistance and encouragement to fullest potentials for this to be realized. Management must know how to motivate , lead communicate and understand interpersonal relationship and be behavior of individual and group of people in the working environment.
