AN EXAMINATION ON THE IMPORTANCE OF ENTREPRNEURSHIP EDUCATION IN ENHANCING JOB CREATION



Entrepreneurship is the key driver of our economy. Wealth and a great number of jobs are being created through businesses started by entrepreneurial minded individuals, many of whom go on to create big businesses.

Entrepreneur in English is a term applied to a person, who is willing to help launch an Enterprise, and accept full responsibility for the outcome. Thus, an entrepreneur is a person who pays certain price, thereby making decision about obtaining and using the resource, while consequently admitting the risk of enterprise.(Richard, 1725).

Entrepreneurship education is a life long learning process, starting as early as elementary school, progressing through all levels of education, including adult education. It enable students have progressively more challenging experience by exposing them to academic core concepts in the entrepreneurial context, which enables them take advantage of business opportunities around them.
The tourism industry continues to be among the most dynamic sectors, generating a wide range of benefits. Including a growing contribution to the nations Gross Domestic Product(GDP), and substantial foriegn exchange.

Unfortunately, most of these businesses are owned and runned by craftman entrepreneurs, who usually lack formal education in the field, lack depth in managerial experience and have blue collar background. Such entrepreneurs have high aversion to risk taking display high level of rigidity, usually operate without long range plans and as aresult, typically experience low growth rate(Smith and Miner, 1989).
